4 giant energy-cars Opened the first fuel cell electric vehicle hydrogen filling station in Thailand

4 giants ‘PTT – OR – TOYOTA – BIG’ opened Thailand’s first fuel cell electric vehicle hydrogen filling station.

On 8 Nov. Mr. Atthaphon Rerkpiboon, Chief Executive Officer and President, PTT Public Company Limited (PTT), Mr. Wisan Chavalitanon, Acting Chief Executive Officer, PTT Oil and Retail Business Company Limited ( Public Company Limited (OR) Mr. Piyabutr Charupen, Managing Director, Bangkok Industrial Gas Company Limited (BIG), Mr. Pasana Ganez, Executive Vice President, Toyota Daihatsu Engineering and Mae Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (TDEM) and Mr. Noriaki Yamashita, President of Toyota Motor Thailand Company Limited (TMT) jointly opened a hydrogen fuel pilot station for fuel cell electric vehicles. Vehicle: FCEV, Thailand’s first (Hydrogen Station) at Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province, by bringing Toyota’s Mirai fuel cell electric vehicle to be tested in Thailand. Providing a shuttle service between U-Tapao Airport, Chonburi Province (U-Tapao Limousines) for tourists and passengers in the Pattaya-Chonburi area and nearby areas. It collects technical data obtained from actual use. To create awareness and be information to support future expansion

Mr. Atthaphon said that PTT recognizes the urgent importance of global climate change. Therefore, it aims to achieve a zero net greenhouse gas emissions reduction by 2050, faster than the national target. as well as promoting cooperation with other partners to jointly push Thailand towards this goal. which is the potential energy It will be the key to effectively helping Thailand achieve its Carbon Neutrality and Net Zero Greenhouse Gas Emissions goals.

However, the use of hydrogen as a fuel for vehicles. It is a new innovation for Thailand that requires experience. expertise and high-value investment The cooperation of 5 leading partners in the energy and automotive sectors this time. thus creating confidence for consumers. both in terms of international standards and the highest safety that will be delivered to users in the future. PTT has supported the installation of the infrastructure of the hydrogen gas filling system. and the necessary technical information Join the push for the use of clean energy technology. To drive business, society and environment to grow together in all dimensions in a balanced and sustainable manner

Mr Wisan said that from the current trend of energy consumption in travel and transportation, electric trains are starting to get more attention from consumers. And one of OR’s missions is to create Seamless Mobility aimed at meeting the needs of consumers and businesses. No matter what kind of power you need for traveling for a seamless transition to energy use. as well as strive to drive the use of electricity for travel and transportation to be widespread in the country. as well as fully develop the electric vehicle business to become a leader in the fully integrated electric vehicle ecosystem (EV Ecosystem).

The construction of a hydrogen service station to refuel FCEV vehicles with hydrogen is an important starting point that will help fulfill OR’s potential to become a leader in EV Ecosystem in all dimensions without consumers using FCEV cars. Refueling behavior needs to be changed. Because the filling of hydrogen for a passenger car model takes only 5 minutes, which meets the needs of modern consumers. who like fast and convenient service It also builds confidence among consumers, users or plans to use FCEV and its dealer partners in quality and service standards. This is good for the growth of the EV market and in the future there will be further development of the use of hydrogen in the large FCEV segments such as buses and trucks. This will save time for refueling. can increase the transportation cycle This will increase profits for the business in another way.

It is also in line with OR’s 2030 goals in the environmental dimension. to create a healthy environment towards achieving carbon neutrality Carbon-neutrality by 2030, which will be the foundation for the goal of becoming a Net Carbon Zero organization by 2050.

Mr. Piyabutr said BIG aims to be a leader in innovation and technology to reduce greenhouse gas emissions for climate (Climate Technology Company) with hydrogen innovation, which is considered a global trend in solving the greenhouse gas emission problem. This time, BIG has joined with 5 partners to bring innovations from hydrogen gas for real use in the automotive industry. This is the first hydrogen filling station in Thailand. The hydrogen from BIG is clean energy and comes from environmentally friendly production technology. BIG also has plans to develop both low-carbon and carbon-free hydrogen. together with leading organizations in the country in the future

BIG has brought innovation and technology on hydrogen from Air Products. (BIG’s parent company in the United States), the world’s number one leader in the development of low-carbon and zero-carbon hydrogen gas technologies. Therefore, we can be confident in both modern technology and various safety standards. BIG also focuses on supporting the industry in spreading knowledge and innovations about hydrogen continuously to meet the needs of innovation leadership from Hydrogen of Thailand The adoption of hydrogen gas as a fuel in the automotive sector is an important step in helping Thailand reduce its Net Zero Emissions.

Pasana said Toyota’s commitment to carbon neutrality We are one of the companies that initiated the goal setting. Carbon Neutral 2050 (2050) With our belief in our multiple pathways, Toyota is committed to delivering different electric vehicles and clean technologies to reduce Carbon can be made in larger quantities and faster. We will continue our commitment to reducing carbon throughout the vehicle product lifecycle. We see great potential in hydrogen from a wide range of applications and uses. From production to storage transportation to use in various sectors

Toyota launched the Mirai Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV), meaning the future, in 2014 and the second generation in 2021. Toyota’s vision for a carbon-free society and in particular Carbon-free mobility for everyone This can only be true when all stakeholders come together and work together towards the same goal. And since I was one of the two founding members of the Hydrogen Council in 2016, I am committed to bringing hydrogen technology into everyday mobility. and would like to encourage all stakeholders to work together to spread knowledge about hydrogen.

Noriaki said Toyota is challenging to achieve its Carbon Neutrality goal by 2050, with a core strategy of Multi Pathway preparedness for automotive technology and innovation. Travel options suitable for each group of customers with different needs. with a variety of vehicle propulsion systems To be in line with the concept of responding to everyone’s mobility without leaving anyone behind, so that various forms of automotive technology can be used in practice. We need to understand the usage patterns that are appropriate for Thailand. Therefore, the “Decarbonized Sustainable City Decarbonized Sustainable City” project was initiated with the Toyota Mirai fuel cell electric vehicle as part of this experimental project. Because it is a hydrogen-powered vehicle that is an alternative energy that does not affect the environment.

To achieve the goal of carbon neutrality, Toyota cannot achieve this mission alone. But still requires cooperation and support from partners who have the same goals, such as the cooperation project. which led to the opening of the first hydrogen station in Thailand today I hope today’s cooperation will be an important part of the fulfillment of our Multi Pathway Strategic Plan, as well as to complement the country’s vision of further achieving carbon neutrality goals.
