14 day Phuket itinerary – any help appreciated!

Hi everyone,

I’m new to posting on reddit but thought you kind folks were the best shot for finding valid, experienced advice, so here goes!

I’m looking to travelling with my partner to Phuket August 2023 and have a rough itinerary planned. Any advice on whether it is realistic or I’ve missed anything would be great. Thanks so much in advance!

4-10 Aug staying in Khao Lak for some relaxation
Enjoy beaches, turtle sanctuary, elephant sanctuary (question below…), bamboo rafting, hiking.

As travelling down, possibly visit Bang Pae Waterfall and Soi Dog foundation

10-15 Aug staying in hostel in Old Town Phuket
Doing most of our sightseeing stuff (in no particular order)…
Big Buddha, lots of markets, lots of temples, Thai cooking class, Muay Thai match, massage, Monkey Hill, upside down house, Aphrodite cabaret show, Kathu Waterfall, Laem Hin pier floating restaurant, Hanuman World.
Phi Phi Island tour for half/full day – any suggestions welcomed!

15-18 Aug staying in Keemala hotel. This will be a big splurge for us! We would like to, again, make the most of relaxing and enjoying the hotel as we will have been rushing around during our Old Town stay.
We have visiting Jaras Michelin restaurant on our list. Also seeing some of the beaches, Bangla Road (just for the experience, we are not party animals!) and any local markets we can find.

Obviously we are going in August and understand the weather may be rainy and humid… Will some of the tourist experiences above and restaurants be closed or should everything be open?

We are animal lovers and are hoping to find lots of veggie food in Thailand. We are avoiding tiger places and FantaSea as they look pretty terrible for animal wellbeing. Do you have any suggestions on the most ethical and genuine elephant sanctuaries? Also does the turtle sanctuary seem to benefit the animals? I know being so close to humans is unnatural anyway but I would really rather do none of the animal experiences if they are suffering at all and it would spoil my trip if I thought I’d bought into their suffering!

Thank you for reading and helping out ❤️
