SONGKHLA: A woman escapee was recaptured in Khuan Niang district on Sunday afternoon, not long after she fled from Songkhla Hospital where she had been admitted for treatment.
Police said Orawan Pakdee, 35, serving time for drugs, was taken from the Songkhla penitentiary for female offenders to the hospital in Muang district for treatment on Sunday morning.
About 3pm, she slipped out of the hospital and was whisked away in a Songkhla-registered Mitsubishi sedan.
Police set up checkpoints along possible escape routes. The car was subsequently intercepted on the Songkhla-Ranot road in tambon Pak Bang, Khuan Niang district.
