Why does my condo neighbour put a white feather outside her door every day?

I first thought she had a feather pillow that moulted sometimes and some feathers just drifted out of her door sometimes. But a feather reappears on the floor at the entrance to her apartment soon after the cleaning lady has swept the floor, and there is always only one feather. Is is some sort of Thai custom, or something more sinister? – Black magic? She is Thai, about 30 years old. I don’t want to ask her because she seems to be emotionally unhinged- I suspect schizophrenic.
