Loy Krathong Now Begins at Pattaya Wat Nong Yai

Wat Nong Yai in Pattaya officially kicked off the annual Loy Krathong ceremony on Thursday.

The November 23rd celebration was honored by Mr. Sakon Phollookin, a member of the Chonburi Provincial Administrative Organization Council, as the presiding chairman, and officiated by Phra Khru Mongkol Prachakom, the abbot of Wat Nong Yai.

According to Mr. Sakon, the purpose of organizing the Loy Krathong traditions at Wat Nong Yai is to preserve Thai customs and culture. The temple has prepared a venue for the floating of Krathongs, floating baskets, at the Mucalin Pond.

During the event, various cultural activities will be arranged, including traditional Thai dances, retro dance performances, and numerous booths and vendors selling a variety of products.
