In my group of friends, few can actually handle spicy food. Even when they go to restaurants with spicy food, they tend to choose mild ones instead.
I thought that only Thai-Chinese can’t handle my food but my dad is Thai-Chinese and he could do it. He said that many older Thais can handle spicy food but the younger generations don’t do so.
Why is this the case?
And is Thailand the only nation where the younger generation has lower tolerance for spicy food?
