What’s it like shipping with Thai Post?

What it’s like to ship a small box from Thailand to the US using Thai Post?

I’m asking because when I shipped from India, I needed special forms explaining where I was staying, two copies of my passport, two copies of my visa, and the post office staff needed to pack the box to inspect the contents. It was a very long process.

Do I need to bring anything special while shipping with Thai Post? I understand that tracking may not be available and that it’ll take longer than DHL, that’s fine.

But what’s the actual experience like at the post office and what should I expect? TIA
