What we know so far about Bangkok’s lockdown No. 3

Alcohol is off the menu again, and all entertainment venues closed in the most at-risk areas after dozens of COVID-19 cases were found spreading through the capital’s clubs, bars and other hangouts.

A raft of new measures from health officials comes after at least 71 new cases across the metropolitan area – 45 in Bangkok, 11 in Pathum Thani, 8 in Nonthaburi and 7 in Nakhon Pathom – were all linked to entertainment venues. 

The restrictions targeting those places will be in place at least two weeks. They will be most severe in Bangkok, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan and Nakhon Pathom, as they have been designated public health “red zones.”
