‘We can’t adapt anymore’: Yadong bar Thaisho calls it quits

After months of government-forced closures, a bar best known for its buzzing group atmosphere and shots of yadong – the traditional Thai herbal moonshine – announced that it won’t be pouring another round after June 20.

Opened in March 2019 between BTS Ari and Saphan Kwai, Thaisho recently said that it will be shutting down for good later this month. 

The bar, which rose to cult status with its straight shots of yadong and yadong-infused cocktails, cited a lack of government support after nightlife venues were ordered to shut amid the third-wave outbreak in April. While dining-in at restaurants is back on the table again, serving alcohol on-site is banned and entertainment venues are still closed until further notice.
