Pattaya –

A wanted South Korean man with an Interpol Red Notice was arrested in Pattaya with 1,582 days of overstay on his visa.

The Thai Immigration Office told the Pattaya News that this week they have arrested a man identified only as Mr. Kim, 35, a South Korean national who had 1,582 days of overstay on his legal visa to stay in Thailand. He was arrested in Pattaya and was taken to the Pattaya City Police Station.

Mr. Kim entered Thailand in November, 2018. He extended his 90 days visa before his visa expired in January of 2019.

Immigration officers found that Mr. Kim is a wanted suspect with an Interpol red notice in his own country. He was allegedly involved in an online gambling ring in South Korea which generated 163 million baht.

TPN media notes that there is a current major overstay crackdown nationally.
