Visa payment in Laos

Hi all,
I’m currently in Vientiane waiting for my visa appointment on Tuesday, and I realised I don’t have any Thai baht on me to pay for my visa. I know they won’t accept Laos kip, but does anyone know if they will accept a Thai credit or debit card for payment, or will I need to come up with cash?
And does anyone know how to get your hands on Thai bht in Vientiane. The banks I have tried won’t exchange kip for baht.

Edit: thankfully a friend up here has helped me. He uses online brokers to exchange kip for baht. Absolute hassle.
