Video of elephant painting on canvas in Thailand going viral, Netizen upset over animal cruelty

The video of a 9-year-old elephant named Nong painting on canvas at the Maetong Elephant Camp, in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The trainer was seen forcing the elephant which led to a discussion about animal cruelty amongst netizens.
In the video shared by New York-based new organisation NowThis, Nong Thanwa can be seen holding the brush with her trunk and carefully strokes the canvas.
The video featured a silhouette of Nong Thanwa and her friend Dumbo. The text can be read as “TW loves DUMBO”.
In the clip, Nong Thanwa can be seen as directed harshly by her trainer, the trainer holds her ears and a metal hook-like instrument to direct the paintbrush strokes.
