Over 30 police officers searched the home of a civilian suspect in the Chonburi police extortion case yesterday, June 18th.

The civilian was identified as Mr. Veera “Boy” Nasub. He had been implicated by the police in a 140-million-baht extortion scheme involving the “Foxbet 168” online gambling website and several prominent Chonburi police officers, including the Chonburi chief of police.
Veera’s house, located in the Nong Pla Lai sub-district of Banglamung district, Chonburi province, was searched by 30 police officers yesterday, June 18th, in response to the issuance of a search warrant by the Pattaya court.
The house is a two-story single-family home with a large parking garage. The entire perimeter of the house is equipped with CCTV cameras. There is also a speedboat dock at the dwelling.
During the search, Veera was not present at home. Only Ms. Nui, who takes care of the house, came out to open the door for the police. She informed them that Veera had left the house on June 13th, 2023, along with his wife, and been absent since. Nui claimed she had no idea where the couple went.
Inside the house, the police found cash packed in two transparent plastic boxes, a mobile phone, and a flash drive. The forensic team will later conduct fingerprint analysis and DNA testing on these items, according to police. As for the cash, the police examined it and decided not to seize it since they determined that the cash was legally derived from Veera ‘s speedboat business.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Teerachai Chamnanmor, who led the operation, told The Pattaya News that this search operation aims to find the links to the shakedown allegations. However, specific details cannot be disclosed at this time as he is afraid it will compromise the investigation.
