Today, April 3rd, the Royal Forest Department (RFD) reported that the forest fire in Nakhon Nayok province, northeast Thailand, has now been completely extinguished after intense firefighting efforts over the past five days.
The authorities have successfully controlled and put out all forest fires, leading to the downgrade of the province’s emergency level, the RFD reported.
During the firefighting operation, five helicopters and one fixed-wing aircraft were deployed 516 times to quell the raging fire, using a total amount of water of 713,000 liters.
Several drones were also used to survey the affected areas and monitor the progress of the firefighting efforts to determine whether the fires were completely extinguished. The data collected from these operations will be used to plan and execute future firefighting operations if needed, RFD said. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=–=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
