I’ll be travelling up to Chiang Mai in a few weeks to volunteer at an animal sanctuary and I’m starting to get last minute nerves. I suffer from bad health anxiety and after getting some recent vaccines, I learnt about the Japanese Encephalitis – and I’m starting to worry.
The health professionals I’ve spoken to haven’t given much guidance, just that while it’s low they can’t emit the risk and they can do a rapid course.
For those local to Chiang Mai, would this vaccine be good to get? I’m particularly anxious about the location of the animal sanctuary which is in the mountain area and near to rivers, the jungle, farmland etc.
Hopefully this anxiety will go away, but I’m feeling quite overwhelmed at the moment! TIA for reading.
