U.S. Mission Thailand Helps Teachers and Students Breathe Better Air in Northern Thailand

The United States continues to support efforts in northern Thailand to address air quality. On September 2, the U.S. Mission to Thailand donated 81 air purifiers to Chiang Mai Provincial Education Office. These air purifiers, worth approximately $15,000 (485,000 THB), will be distributed to 25 schools in Chiang Mai.

Since 2019, the U.S. government has donated approximately $60,000 (2 million THB) in equipment to respond to wildfires and help improve air quality in northern Thailand. As air pollutants can impact human health throughout the region, these donations help reduce ultra-fine dust particles such as PM2.5 which can cause serious health problem.
