Two Thais stand among the few worldwide capable of Quran repair : PM

Only a few people in the world can repair copies of the Qur’an, the holy book of Islam, and two of those experts live in Thailand’s Narathiwat province, according to Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin today.

The Thai Foreign Ministry will be assigned to inform other countries about this, so that, if they want to have their holy books repaired, they can send them to us, Srettha said.

He made the statement after visiting the Islamic Cultural Heritage Museum and the Qur’an Learning Centre in Yi Ngor district.

He lauded the museum as a comprehensive source of knowledge for Muslims in Thailand and the Southeast Asian region, as well as for Qur’an based learning. “I wish for the museum to become a cultural tourist attraction for Muslims in Thailand and from other countries,” he said.
