Two injured as shots fired in Patong


PHUKET: Police are investigating what led to the two young men being injured after gunshots were fired in a dark street in the hills at the southern end of Patong early this morning (Aug 3).

Pol Lt Col Chomphunuch Anantayakul of the Patong Police was informed of the shooting at about 4am.

She arrived at the scene, described as in front of a well-known hotel near an intersection on Petchkut Rd, with fellow officers to find two men injured by gunshots.

Nuttawut ‘Do’ Hemra, 21, had been shot in the right leg and Jirawat ‘Dream’ Santirak, 20, had suffered a gunshot wound to a finger on his left hand.

Both young men were taken to Patong Hospital

Officers inspecting the scene found on the ground a 9mm bullet casing and one more unspent bullet.

The cause of the crime and the perpetrators are still unknown, Patong Police reported.

So far police know only that the perpetrator had fled in a black sedan after the crime, police said.

Officers are now checking CCTV in the area in the hope of catching the culprit and pressing charges, police said.
