Former champions BG Pathum United’s glaring slump in form continued last night when they suffered a humiliating 3-1 defeat at the hands of relegation-threatened Nongbua Pitchaya in a Thai League 1 game at home.
The shock loss came after Teerasil Dangda had converted a penalty to give former champions Pathum the lead after 27 minutes.
The spot kick was awarded after a VAR check in the wake of a foul on Nattapol Worasut inside the box by a Nongbua defender.
However, Nongbua equalised in the 34th minute when veteran Rabbits defender Andres Tunez fouled Barros Tardeli in the penalty area.
