Two arrested for selling modified firearms to Siam Paragon shooter

Police have arrested two suspects who sold guns to the 14-year-old shooter who killed two people at a Bangkok mall earlier this week.

Provincial police apprehended two suspects, 45-year-old Suwanpong and his son 22-year-old Akkrawit, at a residence in Yala province Wednesday afternoon. It was found that the shooter contacted them to purchase guns and ammunition.

The police searched the residence and found approximately 209 rounds of ammunition, 33 gun barrels, nine magazines, and 27 other firearm accessories. They also found a gray shirt belonging to Suwanpong that correlates with CCTV footage of a man withdrawing money from an ATM machine. 

The two are currently charged with selling illegal firearms, and police are still searching for an additional suspect.
