Travel to Satun with Siam Society

Siam Society is once again holding a study trip to the Tarutao Marine National Park in Satun province, from March 28-31.

For three days, participants will get to enjoy a holiday on these remote islands and have an opportunity to learn more about nature, take photographs, swim, snorkel and walk along the beach. The national park is Southeast Asia’s largest marine reserve, with an area of 1,490m², of which 84% is ocean. It is home to at least 860 vascular plant species, 30 mammals, 140 birds and 50 butterfly species.

The park features three island groups — Koh Tarutao, the largest island; Koh Adang-Koh Rawi group which lies about 50km west of Tarutao; and a tiny cluster of islands, of which Ko Kai and Ko Klang are the largest.

This marine national park is fairly accessible and has one of the best coral reefs in the Andaman Sea.
