Tougher punishment “FA” joins “Premier League” reveals 2 new rules prohibiting “players” from touching “referees”

On 31 July 2023, the English Football Association (FA) announced new rules for the 2023-24 season following discussions with professional football bodies at all levels. including the Premier League, EFL, Women’s Super League, Women’s Championship, National League System and professional football refereeing bodies

The new rules state that players and managers will face tougher penalties for misbehavior in games. especially the protests surround the referee as well as touching This rule was also developed in conjunction with Professional Football League Managers Association and Professional Footballers’ Association

The FA’s new rules on how to protect referees from misconduct by players are as follows:

1. Players are forbidden to face. invasion of personal space or touching the referee

2. 2 or more players surround the referee face-to-face. will receive a yellow card and will be reported to the Football Association

Not only that, the new FA rules also cover the behavior of fans. Especially singing parodies of tragedy. and the tragic events of the rival team

In addition, the new rules add restrictions to those in technical areas. and a spare bench as well, stating that

1. Everyone who is in the technical area is prohibited from entering the field. to face the referee Both at half time and at the end of the game

2. During the competition, only 1 person may stand in front of the technical area, while the 2nd person may stand, but must stand next to the bench. And all conversations between the two must take place near the bench. while others still sitting

3. Players must not encourage or escalate to a large confrontation with opposing players and/or people in the technical area.
