The sacking of Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa was not entirely unexpected after the club’s wretched run of form, but his departure has understandably been met with sadness for everyone involved with the club.
The fans in particular regarded Bielsa with an affection rarely seen in football.
The 66-year-old Argentinian made a huge impact during his four-year spell with the club and his influence spread far beyond the gates of Elland Road.
His commitment to an attractive style of play also appealed to anyone who followed football.
