Thailand is one of the countries that have shown their commitment to jointly address the problem of antimicrobial resistance with other countries around the world. and has prepared a Strategic Plan 2017 – 2021 by preparing a Strategic Plan for Antimicrobial Resistance Management 2017-2021 consists of 6 strategies, clearly targeted to address the problem of integrated antimicrobial resistance, of which the Department of Livestock Development is one of the core agencies. in the integration of government, private sectors, farmers and the social sector in the prevention and control of drug-resistant pathogens. and supervise the appropriate use of antimicrobial drugs in agriculture and animal husbandry.

Today, Thai entrepreneurs and farmers are increasingly focusing on antibiotic-free animal husbandry, and the Department of Livestock Development has certified more than 200 animal farms that are antibiotic-free, including chicken farms, pig farms, non-antibiotic laying hens, and poultry farms.
