Thais become more in debt in Covid era: Suan Dusit Poll

Thai people have had more problems over debts and joblessness in the Covid era, forcing them to adjust their ways of life, according to the result of a survey by Suan Dusit Rajabhat Univerity, or Suan Dusit Poll.

The poll was conducted online on 1,184 people throughout the country during March 9-12.

The respondents were allowed to give more than answers to each question.

Asked what problems they founded to have increased after the Covid-19 outbreak, 75.41% cited family and personal debts; 69.96% family members being laid off jobs; 67.19% depressive disorder and stress; 36.02% quarrels and disagreements; and, 30.30% divorces and separations.

However, by thinking positively, 70.28% said Covid caused them to be more careful in leading their life; 66.61% have more time to stay together; 63.28% more time to stay home; 51,32% more time to rest; and, 49.36% more activities to…
