Thailand’s tally rises by over 2,000 daily cases, India reports over 380,000 new infections

The following are the latest developments of the COVID-19 pandemic in Asia-Pacific countries on Wednesday:

JAKARTA — The COVID-19 cases in Indonesia rose by 5,285 within one day to 1,691,658, with the death toll adding by 212 to 46,349, the Health Ministry said.

According to the ministry, 5,943 more people were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 1,547,092.

SUVA — Fiji reported four new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases to 125 in the island nation.

KABUL — A total of 365 new COVID-19 positive cases have been registered in Afghanistan over the past 24 hours, bringing the tally to 61,162 in the country, the Ministry of Public Health said in a statement.
