Thailand want revenge as they take on Vietnam in final

Thailand will be out for revenge when they meet Vietnam in the final of the AFF U23 Championship in Cambodia tonight.

The match at Phnom Penh’s Morodok Techo National Stadium kicks off at 7.30pm.

Thailand defeated Laos 2-0 in the semi-finals while Covid-hit Vietnam defeated Timor Leste on penalties after a scoreless draw in 120 minutes.

Thailand, whose players are mainly U19s, lost 1-0 to Vietnam in the group stage of the Asean championship this week, and coach Salvador Garcia believes the title match will be a different story.

Vietnam were forced to make several changes to their line-up against Timor Leste due to Covid-19 cases in the team.
