Thailand Gazettes Royal Decree Creating Corporate Income Tax Exemption for Investment in Computer Machinery, Programs

The Thai Official Gazette Aug. 15 published Royal Decree No. 776, creating a corporate income tax exemption for companies or juristic partnerships investing in computer machinery and programs. The decree includes measures: 1) providing a 100 percent exemption on expenses paid from Jan. 1, 2021, and Dec. 31, 2025, for automated machinery and related computer programs, excluding for repair; and 2) requiring that the machinery and programs be acquired by Dec. 31, 2025, in ready-to-use condition, and be subject to depreciation for wear and tear.
