Thailand Entry Rules

In October 2022, Thailand dropped all Covid entry restrictions. However, the Thai government held a meeting on 5 January 2023 to discuss potential changes to the entry rules. The new rules are a response to China’s reopening.

At the time of writing (1pm local time 8 January) there is still no official statement from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). The absence of an official statement suggests there could still be some disagreements between the different authorities: Ministry of Public Health, Tourism Authority etc. and there is likely to be yet more flipping and flopping over the coming days.

Whatever is finally decided and announced, it’s been a PR and communication disaster. The Thai authorities have shown complete disregard for those travellers flying out soon.
