Thailand cuts quarantine period for vaccinated visitors to only seven days

In a bid to revitalize its struggling tourism sector, Thailand has announced that visitors who have already received COVID-19 vaccines will only need to be quarantined for seven days instead of the usual 14-day period. This will come into effect beginning April 2021.

On March 8, 2021, the country’s health minister Anutin Charnvirankul said in a press conference that this exemption would only apply to visitors who had received vaccine shots for the virus within three months of the travel period, and who had also tested negative for the virus.
