Adverse weather is forecast across much of the country through at least May 30. As of early May 26, the Thai Meteorological Department has issued a weather warning for a low-pressure system in the Gulf of Martaban; heavy rain and gusty winds are likely over Thailand May 27-30. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is forecast to commence in parts of the northeastern, eastern, and southern regions May 27 before spreading to the rest of the country May 28-30. Authorities have advised residents to be vigilant of the dangers of thunderstorms. Gusty winds, lightning, and hail are possible during thunderstorms.
