Thailand Accused of Dumping Tires in U.S. by U.S. Trade Commission

The US International Trade Commission ruled Wednesday that US tire manufacturers were injured by imports tires from Thailand, Taiwan and Korea. The Trade Commission also found subsidized passenger tires from Vietnam injure the US domestic tire manufacturers.

As a result the US Commerce Department will issue anti-dumping duty orders on the imports of these tire products from Thailand, Taiwan, and Korea. A countervailing duty order was also imposed on imports of tire products from Vietnam,” a ITC spokesperson said.

The The US International Trade Commission also found imports of tire products from Vietnam sold in the US at less than fair value “are negligible and voted to terminate the anti-dumping duty investigation concerning Vietnam”.

In 2020, the Commerce Department opened investigations into vehicle tire imports from South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam…
