At 2:00 PM, on November 22nd, 2023, Thai forensic evidence officers performed an inspection on an abandoned vehicle in Sai Noi, Nonthaburi, which was suspected to have been used in the Khlong Toei shooting incident, claiming two lives, Ms. Sirada Sinprasert, a teacher, and a technical college student.

According to the report from Sai Noi police officers, the suspected vehicle was abandoned in a bamboo forest and was originally found on November 10th, until it was successfully identified as one of the vehicles that the group of alleged shooters used to escape.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Theeradej Thamsuthee, the Chief of the Metropolitan Police Bureau’s Investigation Division, publicly revealed about the case process to Thai media and about finding the abandoned vehicle that the group of alleged shooters used before the shooting incident.

However, on the incident day, the group of alleged shooters rode a yellow motorcycle with multiple fake number plates stolen from the Din Daeng and Prachachuen areas, in Bangkok.

After the shooting incident, the group of alleged shooters hid the yellow motorcycle in the Bang Son railway station. The police then tracked down the hideout and captured six involved individuals.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Theeradej stated to Thai national media that the group of alleged shooters had planned the shooting incident in steps and many motorcycles were used to avoid arrest. The police thoroughly conducted an investigation from local CCTV of more than 1,200 units on the escape routes.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Theeradej further added that the alleged suspects denied the accusation and the police had no clue what they could gain from the incident. To call it a criminal organization is not exaggerated as a quarrel between students could not work in a large group and a series of schemes. They are also involved in shady businesses, said Pol. Maj. Gen. Theeradej.

Further details cannot be disclosed to the press at this time as it will affect the ongoing case. The police pledged to conduct further investigations to hold involved individuals accountable for their crimes.
