Thai cops, FBI vow further cooperation

The Royal Thai Police (RTP) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have vowed to enhance cooperation in dealing with various crimes including transnational human trafficking.

The FBI’s Chris A Cantrell, legal attache at the US embassy in Thailand, yesterday represented FBI director Christopher A Wray in praising national police chief Suwat Jang­yod­suk for his involvement in past cases and to thank the RTP for cooperating with the bureau in the past.

Pol Gen Suwat said the RTP was always ready to work with the FBI to enhance criminal suppression, such as in the police training centre in Nakhon Ratchasima which resembles training centres used by the American police.

The FBI has also helped supported the Advanced Law Enforcement Training (ALET) programme to boost the potential of four special operation units — Arintaraj, Naresuan, Hanuman and Special Service…
