‘Thai Airways’ opened a profit in the first quarter of 12 billion baht, an increase of 486%

Today (May 12), Thai Airways International Public Company Limited opens financial statements for the 1st quarter of the year 2023 ending on March 31, 2023. The company and its subsidiaries have a total of 65 aircraft.

Net profit was 12,523 million baht, an increase of 486% compared to the same period last year, a loss of 3,247 million baht, with total revenues of 41,507 million baht, higher than the previous year by 30,326 million baht (271.2%).

Due to this quarter, the company provides passenger transport flights in the winter schedule of 2022 – 2023 to accommodate passenger travel to 34 routes worldwide, including Europe, Australia and Asia, with the number of passengers transported. A total of 3.52 million people, an increase of 245.1% from the previous year.

In addition, from March 1, 2023, the company began to return to open routes to the People’s Republic of China. In addition, other service income increased by 621 million baht (46.4%) due to an increase in customer flights. and total expenses amounted to 28,473 million baht, higher than the previous year by 14,125 million baht (98.4%).

This is mainly due to an increase in operating expenses that vary according to production and/or transportation volumes, especially the cost of jet fuel. from oil prices that are 9.7% higher than last year
