The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) organized the ‘Amazing Thailand Summer Kick Off Party’ to update the local New York media on Thailand’s tourism situation, the ‘Visit Thailand Year 2023: Amazing New Chapters’ marketing campaign, and the kingdom’s direction towards meaningful travel experiences.
Coming as its name suggests at the start of the American summer, the Amazing Thailand Summer Kick Off Party, which was held on 6 June, followed the ‘Amazing Thailand Festival 2023’ consumer show on 3-4 June, 2023, at Lower Manhattan’s Oculus Plaza.
As well as a briefing on Thailand’s tourism direction and a networking opportunity, the Amazing Thailand Summer Kick Off Party showcased an exciting array of meaningful travel experiences in Thailand through cultural performances and Thai art and craft making activities, along with a panel discussion on Thailand’s travel experiences presented by New York-based influencers.
Mr. Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications, said “The high-level consumer and media exposure created through the Amazing Thailand Festival 2023 and Amazing Thailand Summer Kick Off Party is to inspire the North American market to visit Thailand, and explore a vast array of possibilities of meaningful travel experiences on offer throughout the kingdom.”
TAT is placing emphasis on highlighting a wide variety of high value and sustainable travel experiences in Thailand that cater to the lifestyles of different travel segments from the USA. These include luxury, sustainable, romance and LGBTQ+ from varied market demographics, such as baby boomer, Gen X, Gen Y, and Gen Z. Among the initiatives to be introduced include joint marketing promotions with strategic partners and brand communications through American film and TV productions in Thailand.
From 1 January to 18 May 2023, Thailand welcomed some 344,000 visitors from the USA, while TAT has forecasted a ballpark figure of one million for the entire year – or near the pre-pandemic level at 1.16 million in 2019. The number is expected to grow to 1.5 million in 2024, as the tourism sector is anticipated to continue to rebound. (TAT)
