Tajikistan in final, thanks to close win

Tajikistan rallied past Trinidad and Tobago 2-1 on Thursday night to reach the final of the 2022 King’s Cup at Chiang Mai’s 700th Anniversary Stadium.

Trinidad and Tobago broke the deadlock shortly before the 30-minute mark when Judah Garcia put them in the lead.

Tajikistan looked a much improved side after the break and Mukhammadzhon Rakhimov gave them the equaliser they were looking for five minutes into the second half.

Ehsoni Panshanbe grabbed the winner 15 minutes from time to put Tajikistan is Sunday’s final.

Hosts Thailand were to face regional rivals Malaysia in the other match last night.
