T1 side Port face Kitchee on home soil

Thai League 1 side Port will make their AFC Champions League group stage debut against Hong Kong’s Kitchee on Thursday.

The Group J match will take place at Buriram Stadium, home of Thai League 1 club Buriram United, at 9pm.

It follows the opening Group J game between China’s Guangzhou FC and Japan’s Cerezo Osaka at 5pm at the same venue.

All Group J matches are scheduled at Buriram Stadium.

Playing on home soil, Port are seen as favourites against Kitchee, who are making their second appearance in the continental club championship.

“This is the first time that we play in the group stage of the AFC Champions League so we aim for good results,” Port coach Sarawut Treephan said on Wednesday.
