Suvarnabhumi Airport to increase capacity with third runway in July

To accommodate the growing demand for air travel, Suvarnabhumi Airport is undergoing a major expansion project that includes the construction of a third runway.

The new runway is expected to increase the airport’s capacity by 30%, allowing it to handle up to 100 million passengers per year.

The expansion is expected to elevate the airport’s flight handling capacity from 67 flights per hour to 94, a crucial step towards bolstering Thailand‘s status as a key aviation hub in the region.

The third runway is scheduled to be completed and operational by July 2023. Once completed, it will be the longest runway at Suvarnabhumi Airport, measuring 4,000 meters (13,123 feet) in length. The project also includes the construction of a new taxiway, a new apron, and additional passenger facilities.
