Suphanburi stunned 10-man Chiang Rai United 2-1 in Thai League 1 on Wednesday night to set up a high-stakes battle for survival with Sukhothai.

Brazilian forward Herlison Caion was the home team’s hero as he scored twice after 49 and 63 minutes.

Chiang Rai’s Sivakorn Tiatrakul was sent off in the 69th minute. Bill Rosimar cut the deficit to 2-1 in injury time.

Suphanburi, who are third from last, still have to beat Sukhothai at home on the final day of the season on Sunday to remain in the top flight.
