StarLux plane out of commission after hard landing in Bangkok

Taipei, July 28 (CNA) All 178 passengers who flew to Bangkok on Thursday onboard StarLux A321 plane are safe after what is believed to have been a hard landing at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) resulted in the aircraft being taken out of commission, the Taiwan-based flight company said Friday.

After the plane landed in Thailand an unspecified anomaly was detected, which in accordance with aviation rules the company immediately reported to Taiwan’s Civil Aeronautics Administration, StarLux spokesman Nieh Kuo-wei (聶國維) told CNA.

According to the regulations, a plane with such an anomaly is unable to fly and has to undergo detailed examination and repairs, with related data submitted to its manufacturer, Nieh said.
