Star-crossed lovers coming to doomed Bangkok rail station

Update: Railway officials today said they won’t allow a public movie to show at its historic Bangkok rail terminal. 

Joining a City Hall project to show movies around town in public places is a century-old transit landmark where a tale of star-crossed lovers will be told. 

This Sunday, the Bangkok Railway Station or Hua Lamphong will screen World War II period drama Khu Kam or Sunset at Chaophraya (2013). 

The 2013 film was an adaptation of a novel by the same name by late author Thommayanti. In it, Imperial Japanese naval invader Kobori (Nadech Kugimiya) falls for a Thai woman named Angsumalin (Oranate D. Caballes).



The 8pm screening will follow a late Sunday afternoon show by Zipper Clown and live performances by a symphony orchestra and singer Jirakorn “Ae” Sompitak.
