Shattered windows, ripped roofs: Residents share scenes of destruction after factory blaze

Images and videos of cracked walls, shattered windows and ripped doors have been circulating online this morning after a Bangkok factory’s fire and explosions affected several nearby homes.

Homes near the Mingdih Chemical polystyrene factory in Soi King Kaew 21 of Samut Prakan’s Bang Phli district were damaged following the massive blaze in the wee hours of this morning that injured at least 20 people as of publication time.

Authorities have yet to release details on the number of houses affected and residents that were ordered to evacuate at around 9:30am. An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
