Sadom sits pretty after sizzling 62

Sadom Kaewkanjana fired a sizzling nine-under-par 62 to take the clubhouse lead in the second round of the Boonchu Ruangkit Championship in Nakhon Ratchasima yesterday.

Looking for his third win on the All Thailand Golf Tour, Sadom made nine birdies in a bogey-free round in the season opener at Rancho Charnvee Resort and Golf Club.

He was at 16-under 126 after two days while 21 golfers could not finish their rounds due to darkness after play was suspended for almost two hours because of lightning and storm.

World No.172 Gunn Charoenkul, the highest-ranked player in the field, was tied for second with Settee Prakongvech (65) and Charng-Tai Sudsom (65). They sat four shots behind the clubhouse leader.

Narathiwat-born Sadom, who last won at the Thongchai Jaidee Foundation event in 2019, admitted that the result exceeded his expectation.
