On February 16th, 2024, Admiral Worawut Pruksarungruang, the Chief of Naval Staff, performed a field inspection on installation of air treatment machines aimed to reduce air pollution, and PM 2.5 dust, in the Bangkok area.
The Royal Thai Navy was aware of the serious negative impacts of PM 2.5 dust and has worked on collaboration from the private sector in installing 14 air treatment machines in various locations in Bangkok including Phra Nakhon and Thonburi areas, said Admiral Worawut. As of press time, 3 machines were installed at Nantha Utthayan Club, Royal Navy Club, and Tha Tien Pier.
According to Admiral Worawut, the air treatment machines were effective in reducing air pollution, especially PM 2.5 dust. It aimed to purify air pollution for Thai people to have good air quality and a healthy life, according to Admiral Worawut. In the future, it was planned to expand the installation of air treatment machines to purify air pollution in Bangkok and improve the quality of healthy life for all people, remarked Admiral Worawut.
