Pattaya: Rookie Jaravee Boonchant shared a five-way tie for lead after the first round of the US$1.7-million (approx 62 million baht) Honda LPGA Thailand on Thursday.
Jaravee, who is ranked 238th in the world, shot an opening seven-under-par 65 to join Japan’s Nasa Hataoka, China’s Lin Xiyu, Sweden’s Anna Nordqvist and American Jennifer Kupcho at the top of the leaderboard at Siam Country Club.
The 23-year-old Jaravee fired eight birdies during her first round and had just one bogey at the par-3 16th hole.
