Residence Certificate

Thailand is sometime wonderful, sometime it’s driving me crazy.

So I am in Chiang Mai, with a work permit. The visa (and work permit) was done in Bangkok .
I remember that last year I already did a residence certificate here in Chiang mai (2nd floor of the Chiang mai Immigration near the airport) with absolutely no issues at all.

Now apparently according to the lady I spoke to, this has changed since the 7th of November. And I need to either do my certificate in Bangkok or at the French embassy (I am French) , which is also in Bangkok :D.

I need this paper before my appointment at DLT the 20th of February but I don’t want to fly to bangkok just for this… The idea behind doing my driver license in the first place was to avoid throwing money at the officers now I gotta fly to bangkok and pay way more than I would ever spend by being arrested ? FFS.

I have multiple questions :
– Are there any work around ?
– Does someone have a link to this 7th of November change bullshit that the lady told me ?

side note : my work permit does not have my address on it.
