Relationship with a Thai. No time for travelling or hobbies due to work?

In January I moved in with my Thai girfriend. We are the same age and have been in a happy relationship for almost 5 years.

The only thing that really bugs me is her schedule at work.

She works at a private hospital and her schedule usually consists of 10-12 hour shifts, sometimes day + night shifts and mostly just one day off per week. Since I met her she has never had more than 4 days off in a row.

I know that most Thai people have to work really hard and that you cannot expect a western work-life-balance.

However, I personally would love to travel more often. Unfortunately, spending a weekend at the beach or making a short trip to a neighbouring country requires a lot of planning and is in most cases not feasable at all due to her limited days off.

Does anyone have similar experiences? How do you deal with it? Do you travel by yourself or just stay at home?
