Re-entry Permit at Airport

Hi BKK people,

Seeking your advice regarding getting re-entry Permit at the airport. I have done re-entry permit at the airport last October and it took me almost half an hour to get it even though there was no queue. I am thinking December is a holiday season and a lot might be also flying out of the country for holidays. Now my question is, should I get my re-entry permit at the airport on the day of my departure or should I get it in advance? Anyone have experience getting re-entry permit during holiday season? I will be departing from Suvarnabhumi Airport and my flight is scheduled at 20.00 Saturday.
