Ratchanok, Phittayaporn coast into last 16

Ratchanok Intanon and Phittayaporn Chaiwan progressed to the last 16 round of the US$1.2 million Indonesia Open in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Eighth seed Ratchanok defeated fellow Thai Pornpawee Chochuwong 21-17, 21-17 and will face either Lianne Tan of Germany or Line Hojmark Kjaersfeldt of Denmark for a place in the quarter-finals.

Earlier, Phittayaporn booked her berth in the last 16 after she defeated local star Gregboria Mariska Tunjung 21-17, 10-21, 21-12 in the BWF World Tour Super 1000 event.

She will take on sixth seed Nozomi Okuhara of Japan today.
